a. A book store or a library- It is a fairly common choice among writers. A book store can help host the event and sell books on the day of the launch. However, these places usually won't serve snacks/drinks, and that's something you need to take care of yourself.
b. A local bar or Cafe- This is an excellent option for a more casual and relaxed event. You can even strike up a deal with the bar/cafe in terms of foods and drinks and take care of it. But, on the flip side, you will be confined to their space, their rules, their timeline. This is a feasible option only if you aren't expecting or inviting a whole load of guests.
c. A private venue-A private venue is another good option, for it gives you a lot more privacy and freedom to host your event. It provides you the ease of organization and lets you control various dynamics of the game. Obviously, you may incur some extra costs with this type of venue. But if you aren't tight on a budget, this is an excellent option for you.
These are a few options and there is no compulsion for you to stick to them. You can always get creative while choosing space for your book launch. You can host it in your own house and decorate it as you see fit. And if it's a children's book, you can organize it somewhere like an amusement park where you can meet many kids. You can host the event at a theater studio for the perfect ambiance if you have written a play or a drama. You can choose a venue that matches your book's aspect- setting, character, or plot. 3. Promote the event

One of the biggest mistakes authors make is to bring too few books at the launch. It's better to overestimate the size of the audience and have books left over rather than to run out of books at the biggest sales event. Try to sell plenty of books at the event. You can also offer the guests a one-time discount on the book. Make sure you personally sign all the copies and answer any questions by the audience. Keep a positive attitude throughout.
7. Sign a guest book
Ask everyone who attends the event to sign in with their name and email id. Not only as a record of who participated in the event, but it is also an easy way to send thank you notes and build a database for future events or book promotions.
8. Enjoy yourself
Last but not least, enjoy yourself to the fullest!! It can be tiring and overwhelming to organize a perfect launch, given the amount of hard work that goes into it. You mustn't forget that it's your night, so remember to relax and have fun.
